Specifications can vary by region, configuration and revision. LaptopCompat provides source-backed compatibility guidance, but users should verify their exact model/SKU and manufacturer documentation before purchase or installation.

Compatibility results are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for damage, data loss, or expense arising from reliance on information on this site. See our methodology for how results are produced, including confidence levels and how we handle conflicting or missing evidence.

No manufacturer affiliation

LaptopCompat is an independent, vendor-neutral resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any laptop manufacturer named on this site. Product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners, used for identification purposes only.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract this site’s content in a way that circumvents rate limits or robots.txt, attempt to bypass security controls, or use the correction form to submit spam or abusive content. Unless a page states otherwise (see “Research reports and licensing” below), no licence to copy or reuse LaptopCompat content is granted by these terms.

Research reports and licensing

The aggregate statistics, tables and charts that LaptopCompat calculates for its research reports (currently the laptop upgradeability report and the laptop memory report, plus the report on which laptops you can still upgrade), and those reports’ methodology text, are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. You must give credit as described on each report page.

That licence does not extend to: the individual laptop and accessory specification records or the underlying LaptopCompat database (which compile information from manufacturers’ and other publishers’ documentation, owned by those parties); any manufacturer or third-party document, product name, logo or trademark; product images; or any other part of this website or its software. Nothing in the licence permits the bulk extraction described under “Acceptable use”.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
