How to Check Your Laptop's CPU, GPU, RAM and Storage
Game and software requirements are written in terms of four things: processor (CPU), graphics (GPU), memory (RAM) and free storage. You can read all four from your laptop in about a minute, without installing anything.
On Windows
Open Settings → System → About. The Device specifications panel lists your processor and your Installed RAM. It does not list graphics or storage type.
For a fuller picture, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager and choose the Performance tab. It has separate pages for CPU, Memory, Disk and GPU. Laptops with two graphics chips show GPU 0 (usually the integrated one) and GPU 1 (usually the dedicated one), each with its own model name and dedicated GPU memory.
To see the display adapter details and DirectX version, press Win+R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. The Display tab shows the graphics chip, its dedicated memory, and the driver version.
On a Mac
Choose the Apple menu → About This Mac. It shows the chip (for example an Apple M-series chip, or an Intel processor on older Macs), the memory, and the macOS version. On Apple silicon the memory is unified — shared between the CPU and GPU — and is fixed at purchase.
For storage, open System Settings → General → Storage.
Integrated vs. dedicated graphics
Many laptops have graphics built into the processor (integrated) and some add a separate dedicated GPU with its own memory. A requirement that names a specific graphics card is asking about a dedicated GPU; an integrated chip that shares system memory is a much weaker match even if the model name looks similar. If your laptop shows two GPUs, the dedicated one is the one games should use.
Then compare against real requirements
Once you have your four numbers, compare them with the publisher's own minimum and recommended requirements. LaptopCompat's What Can I Run? tool does the lookup for your exact laptop model and shows the source for every requirement.
